UNUSUALLY INAUGURATION

All of member PBI 2016 with some Lecturer after Inaguration

Inauguration is an annual tradition to establish all new students in a department, as well as English Education Department 2016. This event was celebrated in Swiss Bellin Ballroom Makassar located on Boulevard 55, Masale, Panakkukang, Makkassar, South Sulawesi by 107 new students (Friday, 05/12/2017).

This event was helped by their senior, Department association of University student 2016/2017 and Dr. Kamsinah M.Pd as a chief of English Education. This event that had a theme “The Light Gather Us” declared the new name of English Education Department 2016. The new name is FLASH16HT. The theme was inspired by the process of training before inauguration, where in the process, there were many different opinions.

This event was opened by the appearance of “Angngaru” who was believed by the people of Makassar as an excuse (Mappatabe’) before starting an event, followed by the opening dance of Paddupa dance for the invited guests who came. The inauguration was guided by 4 Master of Ceremony, 2 people for formal namely Satria Fahmi and Dian Sulastri. 2 people for informal namely Arzandi Abuhasyim and Murni.

The appearances on the inauguration are; first, vocal group, there were four songs, Indonesia Raya, Mars UIN Alauddin Makassar, Mars Tarbiyah, and Anging Mammiri. The songs reflect that we are unity in NKRI, UIN, Tarbiyah Faculty and one of the traditional song from Makassar.

Second, 4 ethnic dance reflects the representative from 4 ethnic that are domiciled in South Sulawesi. Those are Makassarnese, Bugisnese, Mandarnese, and Torajanese. Third, Handmine was a main presentation because there was a decleration for their new name. That presentation got a big appreciation because it was the first for English Education Department to do something different like that. Fourth, theater. The title of this theater was “Anak Lorong”. It determined Indonesian daily life. The poor people is always oppressed by the rich people, where the poor people are difficult to get their authority as a citizen, but the rich people can get what they want because they have a power. Fifth, Marendeng Toraja Dance. This dance is from Toraja. Toraja is a area that has a many cultures, even its cultures are known by foreign countries. Sixth, Percussion. They used second bucket but that bucket produced a good sound. And the last, Batuta dance. This dance was displayed because this dance has unique dress and movement.

“Great, I was really satisfied with the handmine because it was my first time to see like that. But I think that it was not complete because there was no presentation from the seniors”. Comment Hasriani, The staf of English Education Department.

“It was awesome. English Education department 2016 was brave to choose a famous hotel. I almost shed my tears when I saw Handmine. It was my first time to see a great appearance” Answer Fitriani, Arabic Education Department student when interviewed yesterday.

“This inauguration reflected hard work because we can see the history of inauguration last year, there was no presentation like this. 2 words, hard work and creative” Said Ummu Rofika, English Education Department student as their senior.

“I was the secretary inauguration. Here, I learned many things about the ups and downs, when collected my friend when we were training, about cooperation, about difficult to look for people who want to accompany my friends to go home especially at night because we were afraid. Then, there were many efforts that did for success this inauguration. Like, raised funds in Tarbiyah Faculty and the others, chased by the ‘Satpol’ because we were singing in the street. We were so grateful with the watcher appreciations. There were also sponsorship, like Estetika, Gee Art Wear, Najdah Make up, Washilah UIN, LPM Otodidak, and Trenum Clothing. The guests who want to come are just 300 people, but there were 500 people. Therefore, the cleaning service gave us many chairs. For the place, Actually, we chose Bruga Kodam, but it was very far and Art building but the instruments were not complete. Therefore, we asked our chief of English Education Student association (Nur Ayu Puspitasari), and she suggested us to choose Swiss Bellin Hotel and we accepted it.” Said Nur Latifah Ramadani, The Secretary of Inauguration when encounted in her class.

“We were very proud because there were many blasphemy who said that we were brave to take a famous and expensive hotel, but we had proved it”. Said Indah Zezarwati, the committee of inauguration.

“Very nice performances ever because there were many appearances that was not done by the previous inauguration. As an English Education Department, I was proud to see the process and their appearances. There were many positive responds from guests. Hope that they can be solid each others”. All efforts had been made and in the end, they can raise funds according to their target Rp.23.300.000,-. The budget was very big, the appreciation as well. All the performances that they displayed during the inauguration process took place was almost perfect.
